Gamboa Beach

Gamboa Beach is located on the southern part of the same beach as Guarda do Embaú.
It is 8 km away from Guarda and the hike up there is one of the favorite of Guarda´s visitors who like life in nature.

It is a fishermen village that has grown in the last few years in terms of tourism. Thanks to the fact that the road to the place is made of dirt it stay more wild than its neighbors Guarda and Garopaba. It is a good place for Right whales spotting. Surfers also visit Gamboa because, despite not being so consistent, it is less crowded than other surf break on the region.
Gamboa is surrounded by atlantic forest and points of rocks. There are small bars and restaurants on the beach that are open on the high season.

For getting there from Guarda, the Da Madre river must be crossed and walk towards the south. After approximately 6 km there is a point of rocks that reaches the sea. Two kilometers after that is Gamboa Beach.

For going by car to Gamboa, from Guarda do Embaú, its necessary to go to the BR-101, take a left (going south) and drive for 10 km. Upon reaching the Paulo Lopes intersection, take a left (towards the east), thus taking the road to Gamboa. Follow this one for about 8 km.

See the map below for more details of the hike.
